Multi-Player Dynasty Trades: Balancing Both Sides
Two-for-one and three-for-two deals are where dynasty trades get interesting — and where value math matters most.
Quantity vs. quality
Raw value usually favors the side getting more players, but rosters have limits and the best player in a deal is often the one that matters. The trade calculator sums each side so you can see the quantity edge — then you decide if the quality is worth it.
The consolidation premium
Trading two solid pieces for one star usually means giving up a little total value. That is often correct: elite talent is scarce and roster spots are not. Pay the small premium to move up the board when you can.
Don’t forget the throw-ins
In big deals, the marginal pieces add up. Add every player — including the depth throw-ins — to the calculator so the totals are honest. A deal that looks lopsided at the top can even out once the full packages are counted.
